  • Everyone experiences anxiety, fear, doubt, or insecurity at some point. That’s because our brains want us to stay safe, inside our comfort zones. Unfortunately, real living - true happiness and success - begins outside of those bounds. In this talk, you will learn the brain science behind anxiety and how our comfort zones form. You will also learn why courage and confidence are so critical for living a bold life. And, more importantly, you will learn how to build these strengths so you can stretch your comfort zone beyond what you thought was possible.

  • Our brains have the enormous job of quickly processing the tons of information coming at us every second of every day with the main goal of keeping us alive, not helping us thrive. To do their job, they’ve developed some shortcuts that can lead to glitches and biases in the way that we think. These distorted, negative thoughts dictate our actions and skew our perceptions of the world...unless you know how to make your mind work for you. In this talk, you will learn basic brain science as well as powerful, easy-to-use strategies for recognizing and eliminating unhelpful and deceptive thinking so that you can lead a happier, more successful life.

  • Life is full of hard things, and bad things happen. Learning how to effectively overcome setbacks and hardships is the key to thriving through the inevitable adversity that arises in life. In this talk, full of inspiring stories and digestible brain science, audience members will learn 5 tips, rooted solidly in psychology, for overcoming adversity. This talk will help you adapt and conquer, whether it’s in business or your personal life.

A cross between education and hands-on learning, in person and virtual workshops are designed to deliver actionable information in a fun, thought-provoking, and engaging way. Each session includes a beautifully designed digital workbook.

  • You are an asset, a person of high value and intrinsic worth. Yet, life often conspires to keep us from living in line with our full potential. So many demands and situations compete for our time and energy, and it can be easy to find yourself going through the motions, just getting by, or even reacting in ways that you don’t feel good about. In this session, we’ll do some work to unlock your true potential. You will gain practical tools to keep your mind from holding you back, and you’ll walk away with a renewed sense of motivation and drive that you can apply to your work or your personal life.

  • Do you know how to maximize your wellbeing? It’s not just about boosting happiness, though that’s part of it. In this workshop, you will learn the 5 science-backed factors that contribute to your wellbeing, called the PERMA factors, and how to implement them in your own life. You’ll also learn 3 specific positive psychology strategies you can use to have a happier, more fulfilling life.

  • (Alternate title Breaking Free from Anxiety)

    Every single person has anxiety. At times, anxiety can be quite helpful because it keeps us alive and safe. Other times, though, anxiety can cause problems. It can go to the worst case, overly focus on the negative, exaggerate risk, overestimate the likelihood of bad outcomes, and, in effect, keep us stuck, trapped inside our comfort zones. Understanding how anxiety works and, more importantly, how to keep it from holding you back in business and in life, can be transformative. In this workshop, you’ll learn the ins and outs of anxiety and powerful tools for breaking free from it.

TRAININGS

With extensive expertise in the treatment of anxiety disorders and obsessive compulsive disorder across the lifespan, I regularly provide in person and virtual professional development and continuing education trainings for other mental health/medical professionals and school staff.

  • This training can be adapted from a 1 hour overview to a 2 full day deep dive into Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for anxiety disorders. Attendees will leave with a strong understanding of the neurobiology of anxiety, an advanced ability to conceptualize cases and plan effective treatments, and an arsenal of evidence-based techniques under their belt.

  • This training can be adapted from 1 hour to a full day comprehensive training on the evidence-based treatment of OCD. Attendees will gain a strong understanding of how this disorder can present, familiarity with assessment tools to aid with diagnosis and treatment planning, an advanced ability to conceptualize cases, and greater competence with Exposure with Response Prevention as well as additional evidence-based interventions to augment their treatment plans.

  • Designed specifically with school counselors, psychologists, and staff in mind, this half day or full day training provides practical knowledge and tools. Attendees leave with a strong conceptual understanding of anxiety in children, particularly with regard to school-related concerns, and a menu of evidence-based interventions that they can confidently start using immediately to help students in crisis and/or as part of longer-term treatment or intervention plans.
