You are stronger than you know. Life can be better than you think.

Break free from anxiety.

Become courageously confident.

I am not currently accepting new patients. Please consider my colleagues at www.cbtkansascity.com for similar individual psychological services.

I am a licensed clinical psychologist with nearly 20 years of experience treating anxiety disorders, obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), obsessive compulsive spectrum disorders (like body focused repetitive behavior disorders), and related conditions like depression. I practice evidence-based treatment, which means combining the latest research-supported methods with individual needs and my clinical expertise to get the best outcomes possible.

I primarily use a specific type of treatment called Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), including variations like Exposure with Response Prevention (ERP) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). I also incorporate applied neuroscience - think strength training for your brain - and positive psychology practices, which are designed to foster more of the “good stuff” in life like resilience, happiness, and life satisfaction. I believe that this combination provides a more robust treatment experience, not only reducing symptoms but also actively pursuing wellbeing and a good life.

I have a small virtual private practice in which I provide psychological services for individuals of all ages as well as other professionals. These services fall into two categories: Individual Therapy and Consultation.

INDIVIDUAL THERAPY

Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) is the most effective type of therapy for anxiety disorders and will form the basis of our work together. You, however, are not just your disorder. Incorporating the latest science and practice from positive psychology, which focuses on building strengths and making more of the “good stuff,” will help ensure that you are treated as a whole person. Together, we will work to get your symptoms under control and focus on building a live you love!

CONSULTATION

Consultations focus on addressing a specific question or problem, drawing on my clinical expertise and experience. The goal is to increase your understanding of a problem or provide some guidance toward a course of action. These services are typically quite brief in nature, often only one session, and may be appropriate for individuals, loved ones of people with anxiety disorders, or other professionals.

Other Ways to Learn from Me

Start living a better life now.

If you struggle with anxiety or depression, you know first-hand how much these symptoms can interfere with your quality of life. The skills and strategies that help reduce these symptoms, while important, are not necessarily the same ones that actively promote “the good stuff” in life like wellbeing and happiness. Fortunately, the field of positive psychology has shed light on a lot of ways to actively promote thriving.

I teamed up with the Anxiety and Depression Association of America to do this free webinar. Learn the factors necessary for maximizing your wellbeing as well as evidence-based strategies and interventions to help boost your wellbeing, happiness, and life satisfaction, despite anxiety or depression. You’ll walk away with a good understanding of what you need to thrive!
